இட்ட இரும்பில் எ-The ores were cast

ழுந்தன தேசங்கள்Nations arose

நீ யெம் முதல் சீடன்You are our first disciple

எம்முதல் குருவும் நீயே!And our first teacher!

வெந்து தணிந்தது காடு… காடு.. காடுForest after forest burned and subsided…

பசியே உனக்கு முடிவே இலையாHunger, is there no end for you?

தணலாய் தொடங்கி காட்டை அழித்தாய் (பசியே!)Starting as an ember, you destroyed the woods

விற கெடுத்தோம்.. மண் குடைந்தோம்We gathered firewood.. we dug the earth

வேத வெளியாய் கணல் வளர்த்தோம்We lit the flame in the sacred expanse

ॐ अ॒ग्निम् ई॑ळे पु॒रोहि॑तं य॒ज्ञस्य॑ दे॒वम् ऋ॒त्विज॑म्Om, I praise the Fire, the High Priest, the Divine Sacrificer

தொழிற்சாலைப் புகைய, வானமே இருளThe factories smoked, the skies darkened

வழிப் பசியை போக்கநீ இழைத்த வெப்பம்The heat you wrought to quench our passing hunger

இன்று எமைச் சுடவே இயற்க்கைவளம் கெடவேBurns us today, destroying our natural wealth

யாம் வாழ உமை தணிக்கும் வேள்வி தன்னைThe ritual to appease you again,

யாங்கும் வளர்க்க வழி செய்வாய் நீ!May you guide us to nurture everywhere!

நீ ஒளி, நீ சுடர், நீ விளக்கம்You are light, you are glow, you insight

தீயே நீயெமது உயிர் தோழன்Fire, you are our soul's companion

சூரியன் அறத்தீ, அணையா அரிThe Sun’s righteous fire, the imperishable God

மாசுப்பட நிலம் சுரண்டும் காலம் மாற,For the time of polluting and exploiting earth to change,

தூசிலா தூய சக்தி வளர்த்திடுவோம்Let us cultivate pure, dust-free energy

வெய்யிற்தீ சுட்டு நமை வேர்த்திடினும்Even if its scorching fire burns and makes us sweat

வெய்யவன் ஆசான் - நெருப்பு நண்பன்.The Sun is the master, Fire is the friend.
